Founded in January 1995 by a group of professionals that now form the present Management and by a private merchant bank listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In August 1997 the Company joined the Gruppo Bancario BAM (owner 100%).

At the beginning of 1998, a Corporate Finance Division, oriented towards Initial Public Offerings and M & A activities, was established.

In order to get an essential international view of the industry analysis, Intermonte set up a Network with 7 other European banks.

Intermonte is now part of the Monte dei Paschi di Siena group, after MPS’ recent acquisition of BAM.
